introduction

Welcome to the homepage of the Resonate project.

Resonate is a web-based application for hosting a music community. Users access a music collection, via the Web, and "suggest" songs to one another. It is an immensely simple concept, but can be fun for keeping "musically in-touch" with friends/family. Coincidentally, Resonate can also be used to access your music collection from the Web.

If you'd like, you can give Resonate a primitive test-run on our demo instance. (ACK! Actually, sorry -- the demo is currently broken. We'll try to get that fixed soon!) If you'd like to install Resonate for yourself, start here.

Work is still ongoing on Resonate, believe it or not, but we are migrating from this trac instance as we begin to use Launchpad for managing the project. You can see our progress through the log messages here: https://code.launchpad.net/~resonate-dev/resonate/trunk

Wow -- it's been more than a year since our last post. You may have suspected this project is dead... Though we have slowed down a bit on development, we are still working on things. Particularly, we're working on something that we're calling "Distributed Resonate", that will allow for the music collection to be dispersed across multiple servers. Hopefully we have something to show for it soon!
